The world is going through a grave problem, in which not many might know how to handle it. This problem is the pandemic; the coronavirus. Every authority is struggling to “flatten the curve” in the statistics of how many are being diagnosed. As for this, one of the many things that can be made is staying home. Another way is to identify the symptoms of the coronavirus. This way, you can help “flatten the curve” as individuals. Staying home can help prevent more cases of the coronavirus. According to the official site of disease control and prevention, the virus can be passed down very easily through person-to-person contact. For this reason, if you stay home and keep a distance of 6 feet with the people of the household, you will lower the risk of you and others getting sick. It is also important that while you are home, you should make sure to disinfect surfaces that are often touched in our daily lives. The virus can also be transferred through surfaces that have been touched very frequently. The amount of germs on the surface is very high. Once you make sure to disinfect surfaces, it will not only help you to not get sick, but others that touch these surfaces as well. Identifying the symptoms of the virus can help very well in knowing when to stay home and when to take extra measures. A way to identify and take care of the symptoms, if found, is to do a quick self check every morning and throughout the day as well. Some actions to do a simple self check is to check the temperature. Coughing can also be a big sign of being sick. Another method is to breathe in and keep it for 10 seconds. If you are unable to keep in for too long and have shortness of breath, contact a doctor. If any of these methods fail, contact a doctor. These ways can help you get better and to prevent from getting others sick by taking in consideration your condition. While my opinion is that staying home and knowing plus identifying the symptoms of the coronavirus, many might think otherwise. Some could ask if going outside or walking around by yourself is acceptable. While walking outside could go many ways, it is very risky. Though you are still walking alone, others could be walking by you as well. According to cdc.gov, the coronavirus can be spread airborne. Respiratory droplets are formed when someone coughs or sneezes. These droplets can travel to anyone under 6 feet apart from you. This means that if someone is walking past you, it can be a very great risk on you. Even when you do manage to get sick by this, you will not know after 14 days. By that time, it could be very hard to recover. With this information, I believe it would be better to stay safe than risk you and your family. This pandemic can be very hard to handle and to contain. That is why I believe that staying home and identifying these symptoms can help prevent the spread of the coronavirus and to flatten the curve of the number of people who were diagnosed. If we make a effort in using these methods and practicing them, we can all end this pandemic and calm the situation out. For more information about the Coronavirus, click the button below.
